We Free Spirits About Me

ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Brandon from Japan.

Who am I?

A great question that I love to ask myself as I’m on the road, I think traveling really is a journey of self-discovery. As a conscious backpacker, I’ve been through more than 40 countries and I’ve learned to really fall in love with the world.

Going from one place to another, I’m always left in awe at how diverse our cultures and spiritual beliefs can be. I tend to take what resonates with me to try and form my own understanding of the universe and my place in it.

I’m an avid fan of mobile photography, every photo on the homepage was taken on an iPhone 11, believe it or not! For me, it’s not about the tech but more so the technique. Photography composition is where it’s at.

I’m also a Couchsurfing host in Tokyo and it’s helped me out tons during my broke backpacker days. I love animals and enjoy the outdoors so hiking up mountains or swimming in the sea makes me feel right at home. Meditationyoga, and breakdancing are some of the other building blocks of my day-to-day.

I’m constantly seeking new ways to embrace life so come along for the ride!

WE FREE SPIRITS

We Free Spirits About Me

I believe inside all of us resides an intrepid soul with that quintessential wanderlust. Jumping into the unknown, seeking out adventure, and living through experiences that change our very being.

It’s exactly why I started this blog; to set ablaze that spark and inspire you to go out and seize your moment, witness the world in all of its grandeur. I want to help you discover the joy of being a wanderer while finding the true bliss within.

More than just a travel blog, We Free Spirits is a platform for discovering the heart and soul of each country.

Supported by the pillars of travel, culture, and spirituality, we dive deep into the beliefs and history of each location to gain a much more profound understanding of its essence and elevate our travels with a newfound appreciation for the world around us.

Here, we celebrate the culture and spiritual beliefs of every corner of the world; without borders.

We Free Spirits is not just about visiting new destinations; it’s about enriching the experience of this journey that we call life.

Traveling has transformed me in ways I never thought possible and I want to share that with you by providing comprehensive travel guides, mind-opening cultural insights, and genuine stories from the soul.

So, in the end, what’s the ethos of We Free Spirits? I’d describe it as an odyssey into the Human Experience.

MY TRAVEL PHILOSOPHY

Of course, not everyone can start exploring the world at the drop of a hat, myself included so I truly understand what that feels like. Which is why I carry the philosophy of mindful travel.

Approaching travel with mindfulness involves taking the time to appreciate the beauty of any destination.

Traveling in itself has the inherent capacity to bring us to the present moment so rather than rushing from one landmark to another, take the time to fully immerse yourself in the experience.

Sometimes, it really is more about the journey rather than the destination.

Mindful travel can lead to self-discovery, as you become more aware of your thoughts and emotions and how they shape your experience. Your reality. By being more aware, you can create powerful memories and truly enhance your travels.

Mindful travel can mean different things to different people, whether it’s savoring a local coffee in a café, hiking a mountain, or exploring an ancient temple. The key here is to simply live your adventure to the fullest and remembering how you felt in that very moment.

Because that’s pretty much what my blog is all about – leaving footprints around the world, one step at a time.
